According to Andrew Bynum’s agent, the latest knee injection is a routine procedure, and Sixers’ head coach Doug Collins seems cautiously optimistic about the big fella’s recovery. Per the Philly Inquirer: “He’s been getting them for quite some time now,’ agent David Lee said. ‘Look at it as being nothing more than, like, a WD-40 for his knees.’ Bynum will receive injections of Synvisc-One, or SYNVISC, Lee said. ‘The best way I can describe it is it greases up the joint and that’s a good thing,’ Lee said. ‘They did it last year. It’s routine. It’s non-invasive.’ Lee also said that to the best of his knowledge Bynum ‘is on schedule to be ready’ for the team’s season-opener on Oct. 31.”
