Stephen Curry Predicts Wins for the Warriors and Panthers on Super Bowl Weekend

The first weekend of February will be a huge one in the San Francisco Bay Area—the OKC Thunder are paying the Golden State Warriors a visit on the Saturday, and Super Bowl 50 will take place the following day at Levi’s Stadium.

Stephen Curry likes his teams’ chances, guaranteeing wins for both the defending NBA champs and his beloved Carolina Panthers in their NFL title bout with the Denver Broncos.

When asked about the reigning MVP’s words Friday, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both brushed off the so-called guarantee (though Russ did it with an epic side-eye.)

Per The Oklahoman:

A surprising quote from Stephen Curry hit the web on Thursday afternoon. While at a news conference announcing the Warriors new planned-arena, Curry, a Panthers fan, was asked about his favorite football team playing in the Super Bowl in the Bay Area. […] “It’ll be a good 48 hours,” Curry said. “A win and a win.”

On Friday morning, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook chatted with the media for the first time since that Curry comment. Each were asked about the guarantee. Both took different routes to the high-road. […] Durant was up first, saying: “I don’t pay attention to (expletive) like that. We play tonight. We’ll see. We still gotta play the game tonight. We got those guys coming up. What else he supposed to say? Everybody’s…I’m just gonna leave it at that.”

Russell Westbrook was then asked about the comment, to which he stood silent for about five seconds, gave the questioning reporter a side-eye and then asked: “Anybody got any other questions.”
