Josh Childress Fractured a Finger

Tough break for J-Chill and the Suns (literally). The AZ Republic reports: “Childress’ injury came a week before the season opener. Childress suffered a fracture in the tip of the finger in the fourth quarter, when Warriors rookie Jeff Adrien pushed him as he went up for a dunk and Childress hit his finger on the rim. Childress grimaced in pain, holding his hand and taking an extended amount of time to walk around the court before making one of two free throws. He exited and returned to the game two minutes later, playing the final 5:39 of the game. An X-ray after the game revealed the fracture in a finger that appeared swollen and discolored. Childress will have no activity for a week, including not playing in Friday’s preseason finale. The finger will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, the day of the Suns’ season opener at Portland.”
