WATCH: OKC Thunder 2016 Playoff Mix

by May 31, 2016

While they failed to close out the Warriors after taking a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference finals, the OKC Thunder put together one hell of a playoff run.

Led by superstars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, OKC used their athleticism and length to take down the Spurs in Round 2 and the Mavs in the first round.

Things really seemed to click for the team when the Thunder rallied behind Kevin Durant’s 41 points in Game 4 against the Spurs to even the series at 2-2.

Westbrook put up probably the best post-season numbers of all time, averaging 26 points, 11 assists and 6.9 rebounds over 18 playoff games.

But the Thunder were at their best when everyone was involved. The tough-as-nails Steven Adams was a revelation in the paint. Serge Ibaka defended positions 1-5 and hitting 45 percent from three. Andre Roberson was always disrupting plays on defense. Enes Kanter scored in all forms and fashions. Dion Waiters locked in and got crucial buckets.

The Thunder looked unbeatable at times and finally were able to tap into their potential as a unit. If they keep their core together, OKC will be playing late into the post-season once again in 2016-17.
