Shabazz Muhammad Ruled Ineligible For Three Exhibition Games in China

UCLA’s highly regarded recruiting class was supposed to return the Bruins to national prominence, but in order to do so, they’ll need their top recruit to get eligible. Incoming UCLA freshman and former SLAM High School Diarist Shabazz Muhammad won’t be joining the Bruins for their pre-season trip to China, as he is currently being investigated for improper benefits. Scout.com reports that the NCAA is continuing to investigate whether Muhammad compromised his amateur status because of connections to two financial advisers: “The NCAA has deemed UCLA’s star incoming freshman, Shabazz Muhammad, ineligible to play in the three exhibition games in China, according to sources. His ineligibility is related to the NCAA investigation of Muhammad allegedly receiving improper benefits in his recruitment from boosters of his AAU program. The NCAA has been investigating the contributions of two individuals to the AAU program, Dream Vision, and whether flights were purchased for some of Muhammad’s recruiting visits. In February, the NCAA warned schools recruiting Muhammad to be wary that the elite prospect was under investigation. According to sources, the NCAA has deemed Muhammad ineligible to participate in the three games in China later this month while the investigation is on-going.”

    I am shocked.

NCAA is a joke. Teams aren’t ineligible until the investigation is complete, but they use the Goodell method on players.

  • LA Huey

No way you can have a name that cool and not have broke the rules.

  • justin

@ LA Huey – and be from Vegas!

  • bike

The second coming of OJ Mayo.

  • Price

Ncaa teams recieve money for endorsments… How much is earning Coach K per season? And the fascism with the obligation of one year of college. Ncaa is pure hipocresy. Let the kid play.

  • SeanMagicJuan

So much more athletic than OJ Mayo, and 3 inches taller.

  • bez

Basically micheal redd in college….probably more athletic tho….would probably be the player of the year nationally next year if he plays. If not expect him to do the same thing b jennings did and play over seas

  • rey

@AllenP – All of this child worship going on in the US is a joke too.

  • SeanMagicJuan

I see a better James Harden.

  • Basketball_iQ

Left handed michael kidd gilchrist … He’ll make so many plays just from athleticism alone, his LACK of a jump shot won’t matter

  • Rodger Bohn

Ah, to be young. Yeah that LACK of a jumpshot won’t matter for about 3 more years, then those legs are gonna get real tired and he’ll learn from the old heads. AAU is putting so many miles on these kids’ legs at such a young age its crazy. Dude better learn to shoot and learn quick!

He’s Muslim, he’s cool beans already.

  • Rodger Bohn

@Redd – Oh no please not another religious fanatic! Sheep. I asked a “Muslim” (insert any religion who lives off hope/faith/belief) this one time and they shut up and walked away: “If you were choking, I mean really choking on something, would you prefer me to do the Heimlich maneuver or pray for you?”

  • SeanMagicJuan

Anyone who believes in a “higher power” up in the sky or some mythical being is a sheep, if you call it God, Allah, Jah, Buddah or any other diety. Everything you see always has and always will be, life your life and stop looking to the sky for answers.

Stop stereotypes: he just dunk… Look the guy play (not Youtube) before talk. Shabazz has a very good jumpshot and range. He can score from everywhere with a terrific mid-range jumper. Of course he need to improve, but can be one of the best all-around players in the league. I don’t understand why he can’t play if there is not sentence yet. If result innocent at the end what happens with all the games missed? Will be a compensation? NCCA is absurd and the most efficient system of exploitation. I’m sure they paid illegally Stern to avoid the early entry of high school players to NBA and maintain the business.

Cosign, it’s called faith because it sure as hell isn’t knowledge.

  • T-Money

ya’ll trippin, shabazz is one one most polished wings to come out of HS in a long while

  • Rodger Bohn

Those people who believe in things up in the sky are the same ones who think their vote counts. Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama..those dudes have more in common with each other than any citizen who claims to be a republican or democrat, I promise you that!

If the doctors told you they couldn’t do anything else for your family member, would you rather I pray, or start making funeral arrangements.

  • DABIGFUNDAMENTAL

No Allenp. Just go see a different doctor with a different background.

  • http://Slamonline.com Justin

Neither. If its MY family member, WE’LL make the arrangements. You, you just get off your knees

  • LA Huey

Atheists who crap on people of faith are as bad as self-righteous folks of faith.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Lol. I don’t pray on my knees, I have bad knees.
The comments was asinine, and only someone dealing with the most idiotic believer would have success asking it.
If you’re going to denigrate religion, at least be smart enough to read the source material. Otherwise, you’re just spouting opinions birthed in ignorance.
No one would take your opinions on Achilles’ motivations seriously if you admit never read the Illiad.

Ah, so young, wild and free. So strong and healthy. Full of overflowing brilliance and vigor. So confident. Don’t need faith. Don’t need to thank anyone… Ah…

  • the box out of

Pure Bliss..like in a dream cloud. then BOOM!!! Your dead. All hail the athiest. All dressed up. Nowhere to go.

Better to have faith in suffering and live in kindness and do good and not think of any rewards or anything else. Then to live in blind arrogance.

  • SeanMagicJuan

What “reward” could any afterlife realistically bring?
