Video: What to Do About Trevor Ariza (and Lamar Odom)?

With the Blazers administering a serious beatdown of the Lakers last night — handing L.A. its worst loss of the season — Trevor Ariza saw an opportunity to send a message.

Ariza, in attempt to stop a Blazer fastbreak, sent Rudy Fernandez crashing to the floor with a hard foul. Fernandez left the court on a stretcher. Here’s video of the play:


Due to the nastiness of the spill, a suspension is probably on the way for Ariza, and as you can clearly see in the clip, Lamar Odom left the bench area and could face a suspension as well. Which, considering the way he’s been playing of late, might not be the worst thing in the world.

X-rays and a CT scan performed on Fernandez were negative.

    In all honesty,that wasn’t even that bad of a fall.I’m sure it hurt but I’ve seen much worse come on.Plus if you watch the video you can tell that Ariza went for the ball.At most he should get a one game suspension,but so should some of the Blazers players for escalating the situation.

    Why guys commit fouls like that they should not eject them. They should wait for the retaliation that should be brutal enough to force their exit from the game.

    That was a not a flagrant 2…there was a geniune attempt at the ball. If Ariza get’s more than 1 game I will be upset, although Lamar deserves a couple for getting off the bench.

    Please give them suspension especially Odom the Spurs are playing them on Thursday and i’d od anything for the Spurs to win

    True. He did go for the ball but he fouled. The Blazers and Lakers do need some players suspended for making the siuation worst.

    I’m a fan of Rudy F and with that said Ariza should be suspended 1 game and Odom should be suspended 2…A couple Blazers players should be out 1 game aswell…

    typical european exageration… it was a hard foul yes, but if he didnt flail around thinking he was on a soccer(sorry..football) Pitch, he wouldnt have hurt himself so badly, AND gets taken off on a stretcher!!!! What injuries did he get?? soft tissue… I can see Alonzo shaking his head

    @donlaker you keep challenging people and someone may just show up and when they do I hope you are ready. lol. I’ve done the V beach thing in the past and it was tight. I’ve been around the circuit and EVERY city I’ve been in has game so don’t make it seem like just b/c the Lakers are in Cali that Cali is tops, you still have the Clips and Kings there. lol.
