Bulls Looking Into Carlos Boozer’s Story

You gotta admit, it’s pretty outlandish, but what’s investigating going to help now? From the NY Daily News: “The Bulls are looking into whether Boozer really suffered the injury to his shooting hand – as he said he did – after tripping over a bag at his home as he went to answer the door on Oct 2. ‘It was just dark, my doorbell rang and I tripped over a gym bag, tried to brace myself and it popped,’ Boozer said the next day, when it was announced that he needed surgery. ‘I jumped back up, opened the door and my hand was still a little numb.’ Immediately after Boozer provided an explanation, red flags went up around the NBA. After investing $80 million guaranteed in Boozer last summer, the Bulls want to make sure that he’s telling the truth, remembering that he once famously reneged on an agreement to remain with the Cavs in 2004. From what we hear, that may have factored into the Bulls’ decision to check out his story.”

Well, didn’t Bean slice up his hand during a quagmire with his… household situation?

I’d be more concerned about his balance and coordination if all it takes is a gym bag to lay him out.

Fellas, I know how Boozer broke his hand. When he found out the Bulls wouldn’t give up Joakim “Rich Man’s Birdman” Noah for Carmelo Kiyan Anthony, he slammed his fist on his granite kitchen countertop, and broke his hand.

Boozer should have chose the Nets. LMAO

    he was snowboarding.

    I’m with the Orange

I think he was trying to tweeze his eyebrows, found it couldn’t be done, and then, as orange said, indeed hulk-smashed his fist on his counter.

Damn, Bulls and Booz already are not off to a good start. Five more years of this?

  • IAMORANGE4EVER Posted: Oct.9 at 10:16 pm
    @Caboose: LOL… I just got a visual of that.

I don’t see the point. The facts are the facts, his hand is broken. Finding out how it happened doesn’t change the fact that he’s out. It’s not like they would try and void his contract.

  • Jacob (from Australia) Posted: Oct.10 at 12:56 am
@dfrance21, they wouldn’t want to void his entire contract but I believe they would be entitled to some sort of rebate on the games he’s going to miss. This would only be if he didn’t follow the conditions of his contract and did a Monta Ellis or something.

  • Allenp Posted: Oct.10 at 8:42 am
i wonder why so many people believed the cavs’ side of that contract story?

  • KB8toSG8 Posted: Oct.10 at 8:52 am
Seriously, he’s injured for half the season and can’t get his O going against tough physical opponents. Bad signing by the bulls. They’re gonna get killed in the post with Booz….both on O and D.

  • tavoris Posted: Oct.10 at 9:47 am
Allenp-they believe it, because the Cavs were trying to play Boozer. He was worth more than the BS deal they were trying to put on him.

  • Karron Posted: Oct.10 at 11:55 am
hahaha he soft made of glass and we ppl dont like him way less then da king

  • Tarzan Cooper Posted: Oct.10 at 3:04 pm
in all seriousness, booz is one of the best secound round picks ever. hes not great at defense, but he can score on almost anyone and he gets boards.

  • Caboose Posted: Oct.10 at 3:17 pm
cosign Tarzan, Boozer is a great offensive power forward. To stir the debate, who’s better between these two offensive-powered 4′s: Boozer or Zach Randolph?

  • MikeC. Posted: Oct.10 at 5:01 pm
@Caboose – I’m going with Z-Bo. The numbers are similar but Z-Bo is way more durable. Boozer is just way too injury prone.

  • Caboose Posted: Oct.10 at 5:24 pm
That’s what I’d lean towards too mike, but I think Boozer’s mobility on the court is better than Zach’s, which I guess isn’t saying much

  • Dacre Posted: Oct.11 at 1:23 am
Caboose – To answer your question I’m going to need a front door/bell and a gym bag.

    Tavoris
I just find it strange that everybody believes he made a promise when it’s his word against the blind dude’s word.
He said he never made a promise. The blind owner said he did. Why does everyone believe the blind owner when the Cavs were obviously trying to lowball Boozer in the first place. Seems like the team would be the one most likely to lie since they gave a BS offer and everybody knew it was a BS offer. So if they pretend he accepted that offer, then they can put all the blame on him for letting Lebron’s first religable second option walk. Seriously, the Jazz could have paid Boozer his money and he and Lebron would have been doing their thing in the East just like Booz and Dwill. Instead, the cheaped out and skated on the blame by saying Boozer was welcher.
    People should think about it.
