Chuck Hayes’ Contract Voided by the Kings After Failed Physical

Sad news out of Sacramento, as the Kings terminated Chuck Hayes’ contract after he failed a physical (likely due to an issue with his heart.) Per the team statement: “This morning, in one of the most heartbreaking moments of my professional or personal life, Chuck Hayes was notified that he failed his physical exam with the Sacramento Kings. Subsequent to that, the contract signed on December 9th has been voided. At Chuck’s request, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Hope he’s okay physically, but damn they dodged a bullet with that contract.

Crazy, but hopefully this prompts any players who haven’t had theirs checked recently to do so asap…

Tarzan the Caveman, I don’t think there has been a small, not tough center before. Kind of goes with the position. If your short and not tough your not playing center.

    Good luck Chuck.

@YKnot, don’t forget LaMarcus Aldridge…although they say he should be okay by the start of the season.

LakeShow, he did say toughest, not just tough. Though I would go with Dave Cowens on that one.

Damn shame. Always respected Chucks hustle when he was in Houston, dude really gave it all.

There is a reason why Houston will always remember Chuck Hayes with fond memories. Nobody gave him a shot, but he played himself into the rotation with hustle, hard work, and defense.
