Shams Charania of The Vertical reports that Lee will sign for the $2.1 million room exception once he clears waivers on Sunday.

Veteran forward David Lee is expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources told The Vertical.

Lee, a two-time All-Star, is planning to sign with the Mavericks for the prorated NBA room exception of $2.1 million after he clears waivers Sunday.

Lee was bought out by the Celtics on Friday and has said he will seek a winning situation in which he could receive a rotation role.
